This butterfly (Mallow Skipper – Carcharodus alceae) was very lucky to escape the ambush of a crab spider.
Crab spiders don’t build webs to catch their prey. They are sit-and-wait hunters. They sit on flowers and
wait for insects to arrive. These spiders are seldom not noticed by the insects because they blend
very well into their surroundings.

Last summer I collected some larval skin of the Emperor Dragonfly (Anax imperator).
They were just laying around. So it was time to do something creative with it.
Ingredients: Light and fantasy

It looks like an alien, but it isn’t
This is a nymph of an Empusa pennata. A praying mantis specie.

Lang’s Short-Tailed Blue (Leptotes pirithous) is a beautiful, small butterfly.
I found this one feeding on excrements.
It sounds weird, but it isn’t.
There are still a lot of nutrients to be found in excrements.
